absolut -ly

summer has arrived...and with it comes the days spent in the sun, swim time at the pool, drinking ice cold beverages and relaxation.
for some this might translate:
summer has arrived...and with it comes hours in the heat, dragging kiddos and all necessary junk (i.e. sunscreen, floaties, water shoes, cooler, towels, etc.) to the pool, drinking refreshing cocktails until i'm "less aware" of the heat/kiddos/activity.
for me, not really.
i love to be poolside and probably will be for most of the summer. one true part of the translation would be the cocktails. i can honestly say that i am learning to enjoy the cocktails
so, i've become a boozer? nah...

maybe.

but at least i am not, nor will i ever be, a prozac goddess!
i am really looking forward to the holiday weekend! i'm going to try something new...to me.

i just picked up a bottle this evening...

any serving suggestions?

First Day of Summer

so, i could bore with talk about the weather, since nothing else comes to mind.

or give a rundown of all the things that i've been doing...still a bit of a bore?

summer is just beginning, and although i feel like i've never been busier, i don't feel as though i've done much of anything.

i think its time for a good house cleaning, maybe some scrapbooking, or a nice long weekend away.

date night is this saturday! we still don't know what we're going to do. we don't want to go see a movie, dinner out would be nice, but we do that. we'll find something to do.

my friend K is having a baby soon and i'll be helping to host a shower for her next week...i'm looking forward to seeing her! some of the ladies who have been invited i haven't seen in a couple of years...since i no longer work outside of the home, so much has changed.

4th of July is just around the corner! we're hosting a cookout at our place! i look forward to this holiday every year...some of my best memories from childhood are of this holiday.

just a couple of weeks until my family reunion...i look forward to seeing everyone. my sister is coming in from N.C. to be at the reunion. i haven't seen her in a while and she is expecting her second child, another girl!

july...my favorite month on the calendar.

tonight i want a candy bar

a BIG one with nouget, caramel, peanuts, peanut butter, maybe some crispy rice, all double-dipped in chocolate. i have got to get me one...

or not.
i won't.

i'll just drink a soda, that'll fill me up. its not the same.
