i didn't get it...

when i should have, so i didn't get it at all.
i'm talking about an Asian inspired armoire that i found at the local thrift store...
it looked a bit like this
only it was much larger and dark brown and black, with a cabinet on top and three drawers below. {and really cool legs}
it would have been great storage for all of my table linens and extra dinnerware that takes up so much space in my pantry now.
i found it last week and it was $199.00 but it was on sale 25% off, making it $150.00! what a steal!!! right!?!
so then the guy who works there says to me, "It'll be 50% off on the 28th."
so, naturally, i like $100.00 better...so i wait. and i take my hubby by to see it, make sure he likes it, he thinks its cool, but definitely wait.
and i waited.
and today, when the store opened at 10 a.m. i was there,
but it was not.
and i was really disappointed...and kicking myself for not just spending 150 bucks and getting it when i wanted it.

lesson learned.

yummy, yet not so much...

for whatever reason, i look at these and they don't make me want to eat them.
i don't know why, i just don't have a problem not picking one up and chowing down.
i made them for her, really. and her daddy. they both love them.
especially the girl...

i feel like i have nothing going on right now...

so, i have nothing to say that would even come close to entertaining.

i took some pictures of the girl the other day that i haven't shared.
she had on her glittery lipstick and shades and had her two favorite things with her...
Mr. Nibbles the bunny and her pink NintendoDS.
She walked out the door and said, "I am sooo cute! I love this outfit!!!"

and then this weekend i made her some sweet yummies for breakfast and couldn't resist getting a few more shots...i'll share them later. gotta run...

my diet.

i have been working out, taking turbo kickboxing classes, running on the treadmill, walking the neighborhood, journaling my meals...not doing laundry, dusting, cleaning up the little messes that a 5 yr old makes [she's actually been cleaning up after herself]. and since i've been working out i'm more tired then before and going to bed earlier, thus subtracting additional 'get-things-done' time.
i think i need a game plan.

and i want to make some time to do some 'me' stuff too...
uh oh.
is it 'me' time of the month already?
i wondered why i've had that sudden yet lingering urge to cut my hair or make it a different color...

oh well, off to the gym.

Spring is in the air...

i can hardly wait!
the weather this week has allowed for flip flops and capri pants, and is making me feel like its time to plant flowers...something i don't normally do.
maybe its the hillbilly in me?

aw, shucks...

in our house we have a room that is supposed to be a formal dining room. it is currently being used as a computer/play room for the girl. i also use this space to sort laundry into piles as preparation to do laundry for the week.
she's in this phase where she absolutely loves stickers and art paper, and therefore it is spread like a carpet covering the floor in the space i need. i am not exaggerating here, she buys posterboard to put stickers on and there are currently 3 'works in progress'. anyway.
in order to use the floor to sort it is her job to stack up all the papers and stickers and put them away.

this morning, after she had it all stacked up, she says in her best super-hero voice, "Once again, A.B. saves the world from messiness!"

i couldn't help but smile and encourage such heroic feats!

Woo Hoo Wii

so, last night i bowled my personal best 175!
i had a few strikes!
and Johnny Depp was there cheering me on!
and now my left shoulder aches a bit...just a little.
the game console comes with a nun chuck, one controller and 'Wii sports', which has tennis, golf, bowling, baseball, and boxing. all games are pretty cool, tennis and bowling are especially cool.

so, then we bought 'Wii play', because it comes with another controller...so we can play couples tennis!
its been played every day since we bought it...definitely no buyer's remorse here!!!
it doesn't matter if you already have some other gaming system, there is nothing like the Wii.
if you get a chance to buy one, do it.

perfect weather...

to get outside, enjoy the day...a little bit of sunshine and warmth! can you believe it? warmth!!!!
a high of almost 60 degrees today! (yes that's Fahrenheit) and we should be in the 60's most everyday this week!

i haven't, however.
gotten outside much.
today was a 'me' day.
the hubby took the girl and left at about noon...its after four and they have yet to return. so its just me, at the house, all alone, in quiet. to do whatever I want to do.
and it feels good.

so, more later...right now i'm going to go and just relax...and breath.

he is going to be so sore tomorrow...

yah...valentine's day. got that covered...
he's been wanting one of these since Christmas, we just haven't been able to find one in stores...until today.

earlier he told me that he will actually love me more on friday then on Valentine's day...because he loves me more each day. (aawww...)

now that he has his new toy, it may be a love/hate relationship. he loves me because, well, you read his cheesiness, but he hates the aches and pains that the Wii will bring.

i love him everyday,
some more than others.
honestly.

ever notice...

that when you're busy, there couldn't be more that needs to get done and you never feel like there's enough time for everything?
well on the flip side, when things slow down, i do nothing that needs to be done.
i'm completely useless.

right now i should be clearing away my girl's lunch dishes and getting myself ready to drop her off at school so that i can head to the gym.
instead, i'm wondering why this guy wants me to add him as a friend to my myspace account, which i only have because my bro & sis have one instead of a blog. (i thought there might be some pictures posted of them with their families, however, i don't think either of them even log in, much less keep their pics updated) meanwhile i get the occasional friend invite from old HS buds and total strangers...more of the latter, actually.

anyway, as far as being useless goes, i really have been lately. well, not totally useless...i've been doing only the necessary. feeding the family, getting the laundry done, keeping the kiddo bathed, etc. as far as dusting or running the vacuum upstairs, keeping the bar cleaned off and things picked up ...well, not so useful there.
i would be embarrassed to have anyone over who wasn't a good friend.
i think it may have a lot to do with the weather, too. overcast, or rainy for the last few days...and COLD. i'm so sick of the cold!!!
maybe by the weekend the fog will clear and my house will be whipped back into shape.
i'm beginning to think i may have a mild case of seasonal affective disorder (SAD), maybe just the 'winter blues'.

well, no more lingering. i'm off to do something useful.

the girl's birthday is this week...we had her party last weekend. my in laws are coming to visit to celebrate a bit with her. {late birthday and early valentines, i think.}

i have so many things that i'd like to get accomplished in the coming weeks. maybe, i'll have something cool to share as a result. we'll see.
